Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Shawn Williams, and Tucson is home.
I moved here when I was six, so it's been more than 35 years now. I graduated from Catalina High School in 2001 and went on to Pima Community College. Since then I've worked in a lot of different jobs and industries, including years spent building and running job boards for local communities and national brands. That gave me a feel for both sides of hiring: what it's like to look for work, and what it takes to find the right person for a role.
I kept running into the same problem. The big national job sites don't pay much attention to Tucson. Local employers were paying national prices only to get buried under listings from companies three states away, and people here were scrolling past jobs nowhere near them.
I built TucsonHIRED to fix that.
I run it myself. When you email TucsonHIRED, the message comes to me, and I'm the one who answers it. I keep the business lean and put money back into it as it grows. The goal is a bigger office and our own local hiring events as the community we serve gets bigger.
I'm not trying to be the biggest job board. I want to be the one Tucson trusts: the one that knows the east side from the northwest, lists the warehouse job off I-10 and the clinic hiring near the U of A, and has a real person behind it.

How We Report Tucson Job News
Our Job News articles run under the byline TucsonHIRED Team. We cover what people looking for work here want to know: who's hiring, upcoming job fairs, new businesses opening, and pay changes at local employers.
Every story starts from a public source, like an employer's own announcement or careers page, an official event listing, a city, county or state release, or local news coverage. We link to it so you can check it yourself. Dates, locations, pay and how to apply are checked against that source before anything is published. If we can't confirm a detail, we leave it out or say so.
Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated, in Arizona time. Past events on our Job Fairs page are clearly marked, so you won't show up to one that already happened.
We aren't affiliated with the employers we write about unless an article says so, and you always apply directly with the employer.
See a mistake? Send me a note through the Contact page with a link to the article. That includes employers whose details are out of date. I'll fix confirmed errors, and the article's "Updated" time will show the change.
